Things To Do When Attending Chinese Trade Show

After all the efforts and money spent, you are finally in China to join a Chinese trade show. You can’t just simply dive in the venue without further preparations. You need these guideline when attending China trade fairs


 1.Registration 


After taking a good night’s sleep, you must be in full energy to attend the trade show. Take note that if you are starting from Hong Kong, secure your visitor’s pass so you won’t have to queue in line when registering. If in China, register at the entrance area of the exhibition center or at your hotel. 


2.Purchase a China Trade Fair catalogue 


Buy a catalogue of China suppliers, sit at a comfortable place and take a sip of your drink. This catalogue should contain the necessary details regarding the trade show as well as the exhibitors and their products and services.


3.Meeting Plan


Upon reading the catalogue, you now know where to go and who to visit. Plan your meetings with China suppliers and organize it based on the location of their fair grounds.

4.Common Trade Fair Hours


In Hong Kong, typical trade fair hours starts from 9:30 AM until 6:30 PM. In the last day, it has reduced timings, starting from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM. In Canton, typical trade fair hours starts from 9:30 AM until 6:00 PM throughout 50 exhibition days. 

5.Make Your First Contact 


Even from your home town, you have taken a list of China suppliers to contact with. You will now have the name of the contact person and the information whether they are attending the trade show or not. During the Chinese trade show, be totally prepared as the person you previously talked might not be present in the supplier’s booth.

6.Go To Your Preferred Manufacturer 


During China trade fairs, expect to see suppliers offering same products. To avoid confusions, go to your preferred manufacturer, the one you had trusted and contacted first. Also, remember that not everyone in the trade show is smart enough to talk to you confidently, some great manufacturers are shielded from communicating with prospective clients. 


7.Wrong Exhibitor Names


Be prepared to see a confusing China supplier’s name, carefully crafted in their booths. This instances happen when a company sell their booth places into another company.


8.Closed Down booths 


Closed booths in China trade fairs is just a common scene. These booths are sealed out due to copyright violations, patent infringements, lack of required licenses, and lack of required payment. 

Usually, products in closed down/sealed booth were confiscated and the China supplier will be summoned through a court order. A fine shall be paid immediately. Worst cases involves immediate arrest of exhibitors. 

Chinese trade show offers great opportunities to both suppliers and buyers. Amidst its numerous advantages, be very wary of illegal exhibitors as their products might compromise your business on the long run. The things listed above should be very helpful especially to first-timers.
